W.Bro Royston Morris PProvGSuptWks (Monmouthshire) W.M. Internet Lodge 9659 2014-15wm17a

Brethren as your 17th Worshipful Master may I thank you all for your support over the last year.

Many of you who took office for 2014/15 have worked diligently in setting our Lodge on a Firm and Stable foundation long may it continue.

My year as your Worshipful Master was to be one of consolidation and I must say I believe that the foreseeable future of Internet Lodge No.9659 is looking extremely good and going in the right direction.

Membership is continuing to grow, as we are now just under 400 members in total with more applications to be announced. It pleases me to see an increase in membership from Romania, France, Brazil, Hungary, Finland, USA and so on.

Due to Bereavement and illness we have lost the services of very diligent and loyal members and in particular the recent death of W.Bro David Holder our regional representative in Australasia. David will be sadly missed by a large number who knew him.

We had an excellent meeting this year In Olney organised by W.Bro Roy Hodson, W.Bro Peter Clark and other brethren to all of whom I am greatly thankful for organising such an interesting weekend of music and festivities.
I’m sure it was enjoyed by all that attended.

Also our October meeting was a Ladies festival in Newport Monmouthshire my own Province. We were entertained in Lodge with the Monmouthshire demonstration team who performed a Russian 1st Degree initiation ceremony and a light meal afterwards.
The Ladies were invited to take a trip to Big Pit mining museum many of whom ventured underground. I’m sure this had a lasting impression on their minds as to what was expected of people in olden times.
In the evening a ladies festival was well attended at the Holiday Inn and the International artists Robert Knight, Richard Beavis and Jack Wood entertained a truly international audience. The evening raised a considerable amount for charities and a good night was had by all.

Finally to our Installation meeting in Manchester 21st March 2015.
I congratulate my successor W Bro Benedict Allan on selecting a good team of officers to support him in his year of office as the 18th Worshipful Master of such a prestigious Lodge. I wish him and his officers every success for his intended programme of meetings and events.

May I take this opportunity to once more thank all the executive officers for their support throughout the year and in particular Allan Breward our Secretary and Brian Cozens our Treasurer on retiring from their offices.
Thank you to all the members of Internet Lodge No. 9659 for allowing me to be your Worshipful Master for this past year.
